OCIC

The Order of Christian Initiation for Children (OCIC) is a special faith formation journey for children age seven and older who have not been baptized or who were baptized in another Christian tradition and wish to become fully initiated into the Catholic Church. Through age-appropriate instruction, prayer, Scripture, and participation in parish life, children grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith and develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. This process prepares children to receive the Sacraments of Initiation—Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist, as appropriate—while encouraging the active involvement of parents and families. OCIC provides a welcoming and supportive environment where children can explore their faith, ask questions, and become active members of the Catholic community.
